Feynman and the Nobel Prize

It is a well known fact that Feynman never cared much for honors and awards. In fact he did not even want to receive the Nobel (1965) when it was conferred upon him. He took it only as he was advised that otherwise he would attract a lot of negative publicity. For him the joy of understanding was always the greatest reward.
